User Approval
You agree to this Notice when you sign our Consent Form or click the “accept” button to opt in and use any of our Platforms and Services, or when you visit any of our offices for official or non-official purposes. By doing so, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal information, including but not limited to your name, date of birth, email address, physical address, telephone number, and similar details, as well as your order details, order history, and any other relevant information required to provide the Burucart Services.
If you choose to opt out of any Burucart Services or withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal information, you may do so by contacting us at support@burucart.com or by completing our Data Subject Request Form. This Notice regulates the use of the Burucart Services, and if you are not comfortable with how we process your data, you should not use our Services.
Legal Basis for Processing Data
The legal basis for processing your personal data is the fulfilment of our contractual obligations to you. To meet these obligations, we collect and process personal information that includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, and telephone numbers, which are necessary for processing your orders and completing deliveries.

We obtain your personal information directly from you, automatically through your use of our Services, and, in certain situations, from third parties with your authorisation.
When you complete a form, take part in a promotion or contest, request customer support, or otherwise communicate with us, we collect your information in order to understand your requirements and provide you with appropriate and relevant services.

We will process such information assuming you have obtained the prior consent of those third parties and will not be liable for any data breaches in this regard.

- Device information: Details about the device used to access our Platforms or applications, including operating system and version, unique device identifiers, serial numbers, mobile network, and Wi-Fi information.
- Payment information: Personal information collected via financial or third-party payment systems, including payment methods (such as credit card details) and any payments made for our Services or other goods or services related to the Services we provide.

We recommend keeping your personal information confidential when interacting with these platforms by using direct or private messages, email, or their customer service hotlines.
Geolocation Services
Before using our Platform for the first time, you will be asked to decide whether to allow Burucart to access your location and under what conditions. Enabling location services is necessary for us to provide our Services. You can modify these settings on your device at any time. Once you grant access, we may determine your location using your IP address, GPS, and other sensors that provide the information needed to deliver our Services.
We may also collect Wi-Fi metadata from your device, including whether Wi-Fi and GPS are enabled and connected, your device’s Media Access Control (MAC) address, the Service Set Identifier (SSID) and signal strength of nearby Wi-Fi networks, your device’s GPS location relative to these networks, and the time the metadata was recorded. This information is primarily used to recommend service providers nearest to you.
User Interaction
The Burucart Platform enables you to contact us via call or message anonymously after purchasing a product from a selected service provider, to facilitate the delivery of services. If you use this feature, Burucart will record all communications, including voice and text messages, made and received through the Platform. These recordings are used for safety, monitoring, and quality assurance, as well as for fraud prevention and analysis to improve our services, customer support, policies, and procedures, and to investigate and resolve disputes or complaints. By using this feature, you consent to Burucart recording and utilizing these communications as outlined in this Notice.
Feedback and Surveys
We may invite you to complete surveys to help us gain a better understanding of our Services and identify ways to improve them. If you choose to take part in any optional survey, we may collect demographic information about you, such as age, marital status, ethnicity, profession, and income, which may include sensitive information. We may also gather information about how you use our Services and your experiences with them. By participating in any survey, you consent to our collection and use of the information you provide in accordance with this privacy notice.
Disclosures of Your Personal Information
Burucart will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may disclose your information to:

- Protect our interests reasonably against fraud, defend our rights or property, or safeguard the interests of our customers.

- Subject to your information permissions and settings, for routine business purposes such as processing orders and facilitating deliveries.
We may also share, transfer, or disclose information in our databases and server logs to comply with legal obligations, administer justice, interact with anti-fraud databases, protect your vital interests, safeguard the security or integrity of our databases or website, or take precautions against legal liability. Where required by law, we will inform you of any such transfer or disclosure.
Burucart will comply with relevant data protection laws in relation to these disclosures and will use reasonable commercial efforts to ensure that third parties use your personal information only as necessary for the purposes of disclosure and in a manner consistent with privacy legislation. For instance, where commercially feasible, we include appropriate privacy and confidentiality clauses in our agreements with such third parties.
You can update your privacy preferences, information permissions, and settings at any time through the Burucart mobile application while logged into your account.
Liability Notice
Burucart does not have any prior relationship or make any representations on behalf of the service providers whose services are listed on the Burucart Platform.
Burucart is only responsible for the purchase of the customer’s order and ensuring the delivery of the order to the address provided by the customer once payment has been confirmed.
Burucart is not liable for any misrepresentations made by the service provider regarding any order you place and does not guarantee that such representations are accurate, true, or fit for their intended purpose.
Storage Data and Protection
We safeguard your information through physical, technical, and administrative security measures to minimise the risks of loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
Personal information is collected and stored on electronic databases hosted on servers in Ireland, managed by our related entities and/or service providers. We ensure that your information is protected and that these organisations process it only as authorised by us. They are not permitted to use your personal information for their own purposes.
We have implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to protect the personal information we collect, reducing the risks of loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or unauthorised access. Personal information stored on servers is encrypted and secured using data isolation technology.
Access to personal information is restricted to employees, related entities, or contracted service providers who reasonably require it to provide services, perform their duties, or support us. Safeguards include firewalls, data encryption, physical access controls to data centres, and information access authorisation protocols. To prevent unauthorised access, we maintain strong technical and operational security measures.

Data Retention Period
- In accordance with the provisions of the NDPR 2019, the retention period for the personal information of Burucart users is as follows:
- Seven (7) years after the user’s last active use of our digital platform.
- Upon receipt of evidence of a user’s death from a relative, the personal information of the deceased user will be discarded.
- Immediately upon request by the user or their legal guardian, provided that:
- a) No statutory provision requires otherwise and
- b) The user is not involved in an investigation or legal proceeding that necessitates retaining the personal information requested for deletion.
Direct marketing
From time to time, we may contact you directly with information about relevant restaurants, services, and special offers from Burucart and other service providers. By subscribing to receive marketing communications from Burucart, you consent to receiving such information via telemarketing, email, SMS, and other digital channels.
If you choose not to receive marketing communications, you can opt out by clicking the “Unsubscribe” button in emails or messages, or by contacting us via email. Even if you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional messages, such as receipts for services booked through Burucart or information related to service provider directories and delivery services.

Our website may include hyperlinks to third-party websites or services that we do not operate. These links are provided solely for your reference and convenience and do not constitute an endorsement of the activities of these third-party sites or any association with their operators. While we take reasonable care when adding links to third-party services, you are responsible for deciding whether to access these links or use their services.
Burucart makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, adequacy, or reliability of any information, data, opinions, images, statements, or suggestions provided on these linked sites. We do not control, and are not liable for, the content, data practices, or privacy policies of third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy statements of any site you visit before using the site or submitting any personal information about yourself or others
Access and Corrections to Personal Information
Under the law, you have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, as well as to object to the processing of your personal information.
You may make any of the following requests regarding the personal information we hold about you:
a) Confirmation of the personal information we have about you.
b) Access to the personal information we hold, provided such requests comply with the Freedom of Information Act and other applicable laws.
c) Correction or updates to your personal information.
d) Anonymization, blocking, or erasure of personal information that is no longer necessary for providing services to you or for our normal business operations.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible. If we are unable to comply with your request for any reason, such as legal restrictions, we will inform you accordingly.
If the personal information we provide in response contains data about a third party, confidential information, or information for which we hold copyright (e.g., transcripts or recordings of customer service calls), we may redact such information where necessary. You must keep this information confidential and not disclose it publicly, including on social media, without our prior written consent.
Users may also delete their accounts via the Burucart application. When an account is deleted, we will retain personal information in accordance with our Retention Policy.
Burucart may retain your personal information after a deletion or de-identification request if:
a) There is an unresolved issue with your account, such as an outstanding credit or dispute;
b) Retention is required by applicable law; or
c) Retention is necessary for legitimate business purposes, such as fraud prevention and maintaining user safety and security.
Once personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it from our systems.
Applicable Law
This Notice is issued in accordance with the NDPR 2019, NDPA 2023, and all other applicable data protection laws and regulations in Nigeria. If any provision of this Notice conflicts with a law, regulation, or convention, that provision will be subject to the prevailing law, regulation, or convention.
This Notice is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It applies to all users of Burucart’s Services, as well as to anyone who contacts Burucart or submits information to Burucart in any other way.
